The American Museum of Natural History, or ‘AMNH’ is the largest natural history museums in the world. AMNH is located in Central Park West at 79th street. AMNH is home to many interesting exhibits including Dinosaurs – lots of Dinosaurs, the Rose Planetarium, the ‘Evolution of Man’ exhibit even a live Butterfly exhibit where live butterflies fly around and even land on the guests.
AMNH also features a T-Rex and a Brontosaurus – which is as long as a city block as well as a Blue Whale that hangs from the ceiling.

3. Grand Central Terminal

The Grand Central Terminal is an amazing place to visit any time of day. Grand Central Terminal is located at 89 E. 42nd Street and hasover750,000 visitors each day, second in popularity only to Times Square. An estimated 250,000 people commute through Grand Central Terminal each day on the Subway, NYC Buses and Metro Trains.
The famous Booth Clock is a very popular photo subject for many visitors to Grand Central Terminal. Other popular features include the Main Concourse ceiling, Tiffany Glass Clock, Whispering Gallery, and over 90 restaurants and various shops and vendors.
Want to see something cool? See the ‘Whispering Wall’ that is located near the popular Oyster Bar & Restaurant in the dining concourse. The amazing acoustics of the ceramic arches can make a soft whisper sound like a much louder voice. Try it for yourself. Have a friend stand at the opposite corner of the archway and then you face the corner in front of you and whisper a message and they should be able to hear you clearly just like if you were standing next to them.
Experts tell us that the whisper’s voice carries across the curve of the ceiling and can then be heard by the person standing at the other end of the archway.
4. Brooklyn Bridge and Lower Manhattan

One of the most popular attractions in Lower Manhattan and the East Side is the Brooklyn Bridge. Many visitors enjoy riding bikes, walking or jogging across the iconic NYC landmark.

As of 2016, an estimated 4,000 pedestrians, 120,000 vehicles, and 2,600 bicyclists travel across the Brooklyn Bridge each day.
It's just over a mile across the bridge one way, and it is possible to cross the bridge in 25 to 35 minutes of walking, it will likely take you longer when you factor in sightseeing, taking photos, etc.
You can enjoy walking across the Brooklyn Bridge during the day or at night but an early morning walk or a late afternoon, pre-sunset walk is best for a striking photo opportunity.
Brooklyn Bridge Park is located on the east side of Brooklyn Bridge and is home to a number of interesting features and facilities for concerts, outdoor movies, people watching, yoga classes and the outdoor sports venue.
5. Times Square

Times Square is the most visited New York attraction with an estimated 26,000,000 people passing through Times Square each year and an estimated 17,000 photographs of Times Square are posted to Instagram each day.
Times Square reflects the changing times of New York City, from the early days through the gritty 1970’s to the fully transformed gathering area that Times Square has become today. Some say Times Square is ‘too commercial’ but that is just a reflection of the many massive and brightly lit billboards that frame Times Square announce upcoming movie or television project or product launches and Broadway shows.
Automobile traffic through Times Square has been restricted so that Times Square can become more tourist friendly and become more of a gathering place in the center of Manhattan. The city has even provided tables and chairs, as well as installing the famous red steps above and behind the TKTS Booth – which incidentally is one of the best places to acquire tickets to Broadway shows and other live events in the city.

6. The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)

The Museum of Modern Art or ‘MoMA’ is a very popular New York attraction featuring many interesting presentations including famous paintings, sculptures and other works from artists like Dali, Van Gogh, Warhol, Picasso, Monet and many more.
The museum offers a variety of live presentations, entertainment, Guided Tours and Self-Guided Tours – although expect for there to be changes and updates to this schedule of offerings after the Grand Re-opening in late October 2019.
7. Central Park

Central Park. What can be more ‘New York’ than enjoying a walk-through Central Park? Central Park is an 843-acre park that is home to the Central Park Zoo, lakes, ice skating rink, a magical Carousel, a variety of playing fields, miles of winding pathways and walkways and countless varieties of wildlife.
Central Park offers something different along with each changing season; free concerts in the Spring and Summer months, during the winter months Wollman Rink and Lasker Rink are open for ice skating, ‘Shakespeare in the Park’ offers a series of plays and other live performances.
