The Statue of Liberty is an American symbol that stands in the New York Harbor on Ellis Island. It was given to the United States as a gift from France. The French shipped the statue to the America but the ship carrying the 300 pieces of copper almost sank in rough seas during the transport. Thankfully, it safely arrived in New York on June 17, 1885.

If you are unable to acquire tickets to tour inside the statue you can still enjoy the cruise the tour around the grounds and Liberty Island.
